Junior Data Engineer

Join our Enterprise, Risk Management Technology team to join a team of engineers across our Risk Central business within the Risk Management Group. You will work in a multi-disciplined, diverse team across multiple geographic locations and implement solutions in a fast-paced, agile environment.

What role will you play?You will be responsible for design, development, testing and implementation of data pipelines, Implement/Extract/Transform – Load (ETL) architecture and jobs, data solutions, data workflows and automation alongside analysing datasets.
You will work closely with different teams including the Non-Financial Risk team, data onboarding engineering teams, technical testing teams, business analysts and architects while being involved in all stages of the SDLC from solution design through to build, test and demo to the business.
What you offerExperience with SQL, Apache Spark, Python, Scala and UNIX scriptingExperience with Big Data with a focus on Spark, Python, Hive, SQL, Presto (or other query engines)Experience with big data storage formats and filesystems (e.g. Parquet, HDFS, Hadoop) and orchestration (e.g. Apache Airflow)Knowledge of AWS (RDS, S3, EC2) or other cloud technologies a distinct advantageKnowledge of containerisation such as Docker and Kubernetes (EKS) a plusKnowledge of big data/data warehouse management (Redshift) a unique advantage.About TechnologyTechnology enables every aspect of our business, for our people, our customers and our communities.
