Our Finance Team is looking for a skilled junior accountant to join their department.

About the role: You will join the Finance Team, working closely with the Production and Engineering Teams. You will apply your cost accounting expertise to assist in the management and reporting of all financial aspects, specifically in relation to a high tech and fast paced production environment.
Responsibilities: The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
Job Costing and Allocation, in relation to inventory , direct and indirect labour Communicating with Production and Research and Development (R&D) heads to ascertain and distinguish between Work in Progress and Finished Goods Communicating with the Sales team to track sales and receivablesAllocate and differentiate inventory across multiple Research and Development programs and product lines Tracking budgets to actual expenditure across all projects Support inventory cycle counts and semi-annual countsPerform month end closes and preparation of management reports ensuring that reporting deadlines are metAssist in the preparation of the management accounts, budgets, and forecasts Complete balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basisAssist in creating new, and refining existing, accounting policies and processesAssist with payroll, PAYG and superannuation calculations and paymentsSupport and ensure compliance with all finance filing requirements, tax filing requirement (GST/FBT) Assist external accountants with preparation of statutory financial statements where necessary Follow company policies and procedures (information security, quality and others as directed) Essential qualifications, skills and experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business or Commerce3+ years' experience, preferably in a similar position ideally in a manufacturing environmentExperienced with using accounting & ERP software, preferably SAP Business One Highly organised, efficient with great attention to detailStrong analytical skills The ability to work autonomously and quickly adapt to changing technical/business requirementsA good team player who can perform hands-on tasks Strong attention to detail High degree of self-organisation Excellent time management skills Ability to adapt to changing business requirements Good team player Benefits: Exciting and enthusiastic workplace.Strong company culture.Working as part of talented, highly capable, and technology focused team.Applicants must have full, permanent work rights in Australia.
