DescriptionJoin Our Team: Junior Accountant at The Breakthrough Office At The Breakthrough Office, we support Not-for-Profit organisations by managing their end-to-end accounting, allowing them to focus on their core missions. We are looking for a dedicated Junior Accountant who is passionate about making a meaningful impact in the community. What You Will Do: As a Junior Accountant, you will be integral in managing and maintaining our client portfolios with high standards of accuracy and compliance. In this role, your responsibilities will include:
Client Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing all communications and ensuring you align with The Breakthrough Office's high standards.
Accounting Operations: Execute daily and weekly accounting tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and more.
Financial Reporting and Compliance: Oversee monthly financial processes such as debtor management, balance sheet reviews, month-end reconciliations, and prepare financial statements for audits.
Procedure Development: Continuously develop and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance operational efficiency.
Strategic Support: Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and dashboarding tasks to support strategic decision-making.
Technology and Innovation: Utilise The Breakthrough Office's technology stack efficiently to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately with the latest tools available.
What We Are Looking For: Qualifications: Qualification in Accounting; with intention to pursue post-graduate accreditation (e.g. CPA or CA).
Experience: Previous experience in an accounting role is preferred, demonstrating a track record of managing tasks and client interactions to a high standard; knowledge of NFP sector accounting is a plus.
Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and outstanding communication skills.
Attributes: A proactive learner who is adaptable and passionate about the not-for-profit space, who can manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Commitment: Dedicated to continuous personal and professional development, aiming to complete at least 15 hours of CPD annually.
