Junior Accountant

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Junior Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the company and contribute to the success of the finance team. You will report directly to the CFO and support other management. This role is a great opportunity to gain experience while providing you with autonomy and flexibility.
Responsibilities:

Assist with month end procedures and complete month end journals - e.g. preparation of prepayment and accrual journals
Complete monthly review and reconciliations of general ledger
Assist with the preparation of financial statements and other financial data to support management decision making
Assist in completing the fortnightly payroll
Maintain depreciation and lease payment schedules
Assist in maintaining cash flow forecasts and preparing weekly payment runs
Participate in other projects and business improvement initiatives where required
Assist with the preparation of monthly BAS
Perform other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the finance manager

ABOUT YOU

1-2 years of experience in an accounting role preferred but not required
Problem solving skills and a drive to implement process improvements to increase efficiency in the workplace
High attention to detail and strong organizational and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using an ERP system
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Applicants must have relevant AQF qualifications

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $73,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
