If you're ready to kickstart your accounting career with a highly respected firm, this is the opportunity for you.The Opportunity:As a Junior Accountant, you'll play a vital role in supporting the team with a wide range of accounting and taxation services, as well as business improvement and advisory tasks.Key Responsibilities: Assisting in Tax Compliance: Support the preparation of Income Tax Returns, Business Activity Statements (BAS), and related documents for clients in compliance with Australian tax laws and regulations.Financial Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.General Ledger Maintenance: Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date general ledger records, including posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and resolving discrepancies.Client Communication: Liaise with clients to gather necessary financial information, address queries, and provide assistance as required, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.Software Proficiency: Utilize accounting software such as MYOB, QuickBooks, and Xero to manage client accounts, process transactions, and generate financial reports efficiently.Professional Development: Actively participate in ongoing professional development activities, including training sessions, seminars, and certifications, to enhance technical skills and knowledge in the accounting field.Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve departmental goals, share knowledge and best practices, and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.Ad-hoc Tasks: Assist with ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned by senior management, demonstrating flexibility and willingness to take on new challenges to support the overall success of the firm.Key Requirements:To succeed in this role, you will: Have at least 2 years of relevant accounting experience - CA / CPA underway highly regardedDemonstrate strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindsetBe proficient in accounting software such as MYOB, QuickBooks, and XeroPossess excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with clients effectivelyKnow your way around Australian Tax Codes and Accounting standardsDisplay enthusiasm and motivation to advance your career in accountingBenefits:Our client prioritises a supportive culture where career progression is a top priority.
