MMG Rosebery: The Rosebery Mine has been at the heart of the Rosebery community since 1936 and is one of Tasmania's largest and oldest continuously operating, underground mines producing zinc, copper and lead concentrates, as well as gold doré.
It supports approximately 500 employees and their families, has a strong community focus and engages a wide range of local businesses from across Tasmania in its supply chain boosting the economy of the West Coast of Tasmania and beyond.
MMG has an office in Burnie, giving employees the flexibility to work from there when they are not required onsite.
Jumbo Operator To support our vision of continued growth and ongoing operation of our Rosebery Mine, MMG have several exciting opportunities available for experienced underground Mining Operators who have significant experience operating a Jumbo Reporting to the Mine Supervisor, successful candidates will be responsible for Responsible for drilling, bolting and installation of ground support using a Jumbo Machine and utilising your skills for the reinforcement of robust mining processes and practices.
On a shift to shift basis you will be responsible for: Operating boom to scale face, drill holes for ground support.
Bolt, mesh and bore multiple headings per shift.
Decline, incline and level development.
Installing ground support as per standard and requirements.
Read and interpret mining instructions.
Keeping accurate records of activities in accordance with established standards.
Directing and coordinating Jumbo Offsider / Nipper to maximise production in a safe and efficient manner.
Qualifications, competencies & Skills A manual C Class driver's license Experience operating Jumbo Machine First aid certificate – Desirable Extensive knowledge off underground mining equipment and techniques An unwavering commitment to safe work practices A willingness to work collaboratively as a team and support the Company Values Strong Communication Skills A willingness to partake in Pre-Employment Medical and D&A Screen.
A willingness to partake in Pre-Employment Background checks.
