An opportunity for an experienced engineer to be a key part of Judo's engineering team – shaping practices and ways of working. We have a lean internal engineering chapter, whom have recently worked on a core banking migration to Thought Machine. You will get to work on and drive everything from core banking services, through to other large technically challenging initiatives and digital journeys to support our bankers and customers.

Now, about this role… If you love: Engineering clean, maintainable, secure, well-tested code that runs in production (we are a bank!) Uplifting engineering practices and capabilities Working on technically challenging production-ready services (we are heavily invested in event streaming architecture alongside API services) Collaborating across various teams – e.g. product managers, architecture, design Working in a diverse workforce where you can bring your own capabilities, experiences and knowledge to help build the foundations of Judo Then this just might be… Leading technical implementation of new services (from idea to operations) Uplifting engineering practices and culture (with support from others to do so) Working in a cloud native stack (AWS primarily) and with a modern core banking platform (Thought Machine) Desired Skills and Experience A little bit about you… The skills you've picked up along the way: Expertise with Python / AWS (although we prefer an experienced polyglot engineer) Developing API services and experience with event driven architectures (Thought Machine Kafka expertise a bonus) Ability to learn new domains quickly and leverage knowledge to technically problem solve issues 3+ years' experience with Python / Typescript Worked on "at-scale" operational services Experience with AWS core services (S3 / RDS / Lambda / ECS etc) Experience with cloud native core banking platforms a bonus!
