Classification: Academic Level A Salary package: $85,010 - $106,702 per annum plus 17% superannuation Term:  Full-time, Fixed term (up to 11 months duration) About the Role The John Curtin School of Medical Research and the School of Computing are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate for joint appointment to work in the areas of computational neuroscience and artificial intelligence.
The successful candidate will hold the title of Jubilee Joint Associate and work under the supervision of Jubilee Joint Fellow Dr Michael McCullough in the Computational Neuroscience Group within the Eccles Institute of Neuroscience and Computational Science Cluster within the School of Computing.
The Jubilee Joint Associate will undertake independent research within one or more of the following themes: Topological structures and dynamics of brain activity on neural manifolds.
Network neuroscience and the brain as a complex system.
Computational ethology and modelling behavioural sequences.
This is an exciting opportunity to start building research independence, work at the interface of two rapidly evolving fields, and collaborate with leading experts in neuroscience, biomedicine and computer science.
About You Our ideal candidate will have completed a PhD (or is expecting to be awarded a PhD within six months of appointment commencement) in computational neuroscience, computer science, mathematics, physics, or equivalent qualifications and experience in a related area.
Applicants should have an emerging track record of research in the fields of computational neuroscience, artificial intelligence, computational biology or complex systems as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.
Experience in student supervision and mentoring is desirable but not essential.
