About the role: We are currently seeking an experienced journalist for our WIN News service, based in Wollongong. Working in a regional newsroom offers an experience like no other, allowing you the opportunity to take ownership of your market and report on all rounds.  Covering all areas including politics, housing, education, agriculture and the environment, you can tell the stories that need to be told in your community. Reporting to the State News Director, you will be responsible for researching, compiling and producing high quality news stories for our weekday news bulletins. You'll liaise with editors and camera operators to ensure our bulletins meet deadline and are of the highest standards. This is a full-time position, working Monday - Friday 8:30am-5pm. About you: To be the successful candidate, you will have: A university qualification in journalism with at least one year experience Excellent oral and written communication skills Demonstrated understanding of how to compile a ratings winning bulletin Knowledge of local, national and international news stories affecting the community Demonstrated understanding and working knowledge of media law Accuracy and excellent attention to detail Ability to meet deadlines through effective time management Capacity to operate in a team environment, contributing positively to working relationships Ability to identify story opportunities, and operate with initiative and flexibility Positive work ethic, and the ability and willingness to learn new systems and processes What we can offer you: At the WIN Network, we value our employees by offering a vast and varied array of benefits.
