ABC News is seeking to appoint a Newsgathering Producer (Chief of Staff) who will strategically drive the daily commissioning and management of impactful and distinctive content for all platforms. You'll typically serve as morning Newsgathering Producer to help run the newsroom and set the daily agenda for our hardworking and dedicated news team.
The Job You will:
Set the daily news agenda for ABC News in Victoria, using strong editorial judgment to assess news requirements, commission daily stories and assign reporters and field operators.Work with the Vic News Metro & Regional leadership teams.Manage logistics for breaking news coverage.Help deliver multiplatform coverage plans for big or significant stories.Ensure output meets ABC Editorial Policy and community expectations.About You You are an experienced journalist, editor, or producer with advanced knowledge of news production in a multi-platform environment, including the creation of content for digital, mobile, and broadcast platforms, particularly breaking news.
You'll also be able to demonstrate:
