Do you love the buzz of a daily newsroom and have great story ideas and excellent organisational skills? Now is the time to join one of the ABC's biggest and busiest newsrooms. ABC News is seeking to appoint a Newsgathering Producer (Chief of Staff) who will strategically drive the daily commissioning and management of impactful and distinctive content for all platforms. You'll typically serve as morning Newsgathering Producer to help run the newsroom and set the daily agenda for our hardworking and dedicated news team.
The Job
You will:
Set the daily news agenda for ABC News in Victoria, using strong editorial judgment to assess news requirements, commission daily stories and assign reporters and field operatorsWork with the Vic News Metro & Regional leadership teamsManage logistics for breaking news coverageHelp deliver multiplatform coverage plans for big or significant stories.Ensure output meets ABC Editorial Policy and community expectations. About You
You are an experienced journalist, editor or producer with advanced knowledge of news production in a multi-platform environment, including the creation of content for digital, mobile and broadcast platforms and in particular, breaking news.
You'll also be able to demonstrate:
