You will research, identify suitable sources, arrange and conduct interviews and compile stories to create meaningful and engaging content from rural and regional Australia. You will also write scripts and stories that demonstrate advanced journalistic craft across platforms that can be shared throughout the ABC.The role will involve:Developing and maintaining an understanding of current events and issues, particularly in agriculture, rural and regional Australia by monitoring a wide range of media and fostering a wide network of regional and rural contacts to develop original story ideas.Contributing to editorial discussions by regularly providing original ideas and angles, including breaking stories and developing ideas using a wide network of professional contacts and networks.Utilising the latest production software techniques and reporting tools, and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.Taking quality photographs and filming smart device vision for digital and social platforms.Advanced video skills an advantageEstablishing pro-active working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to build the program brand and audience.About YouWe are seeking an experienced Journalist with editorial skills and the ability to source and analyse information and exercise considerable editorial judgement while working to tight deadlines.
