This is a permanent full-time role based in BRISBANE.
As a journalist with 10 News First you will organize news coverage, originate, research and produce news stories of high quality.
Functions will also include: Generating story ideas from scratch through to broadcast Often working under extreme time pressures to meet multiple daily deadlines Working unsupervised to ideate and execute highly complex stories with minimal management input Ability to report live on all breaking news events Can cover Chief of Staff shift at any time. Pitching stories on a regular basis Regularly lines-up or supervises a bulletin when required by management Ideate, create, and publish assets including video, graphics, stills and run live coverage from planning to publishing across platforms What are we looking for in a Journalist? What's important? Solid news judgement, logistically savvy Ability to make decisions under extreme pressure Previous experience as a television News Journalist with at least 2 years' experience (strong track record in daily radio, digital or print could be considered) Extensive understanding of local, national and international issues and a strong willingness to embrace the concept of supplying content for multiple audiences across different platforms Knowledge of ENPS and non-linear editing is a bonus Ability to work across different shifts and/or some weekends High level understanding and application of media law.
