In this role, you will be part of a skilled installation team that serves as the operational front-end of Q-Free. As a Field Technician, you will work with the latest hardware and software, tackling technical challenges and ensuring the successful installation and maintenance of our systems.
Your role with usAs part of our diverse team, you'll work across projects that contribute to safer, smarter, and more sustainable mobility worldwide. From intelligent transport systems (ITS) to the next generation of cooperative intelligent transport systems (C-ITS), your contributions will have a direct impact on how we, as a global community, move.
As a Field Technician, you will be responsible for a variety of hands-on tasks that ensure the smooth operation of Q-Free's Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). You will install and commission ITS hardware and software systems, and oversee the work of subcontractors to ensure quality and timely project completion. In addition, you will diagnose and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and systems, while maintaining regular contact with customers regarding any technical and installation-related matters. Your role will also involve providing remote support and system configuration as needed, and performing preventative maintenance to ensure systems continue to run efficiently. You will prepare technical documentation and contribute to project reports, offering technical leadership and guidance during installation and service activities. Moreover, you will uphold Q-Free's safety standards by participating in risk assessments, and you will be part of a 24/7 on-call roster, with flexibility for interstate travel and after-hours work when required.

We're looking for:A fundamental interest in technology and innovation.The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.A positive attitude and a desire to learn and grow with us.Experience working with electronic and mechanical equipment or industrial electronics, such as Industrial Automation or SCADA.Hands-on experience with troubleshooting, service, and installation of equipment.Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Confident in the use of hand tools and test equipment like Oscilloscopes, DMMs, and Network Testers.A valid Australian driver's licence and ability to obtain police clearance.A flexible approach to working hours, including after-hours and travel for interstate projects.Open Cabling License, NSW Electrical Licence, and White Card are required.
