About this exciting opportunity As our Joint Field Management Program (JFMP) Data Programmer you will be a valued member of the Technology Transformation Engineering team and be responsible for the systems engineering activities for the design, production, test and support of the JMFP data workflows and incorporation of these into the ReefCloud data analysis system.
You will significantly contribute to the development of data processing workflows from data capture on device, through onboard artificial intelligence algorithms to cloud based data visualisation tools (ReefCloud) with an overall goal to develop robust and mature survey platforms, including underwater towed and surface mounted systems. The role will see you work with our clients to deliver data, via workflows, to a range of information and knowledge systems including cloud-based dashboards, data visualisation, and reporting tools.
About you You will hold a Tertiary qualification in computer science, computer programming or equivalent demonstrated work experience coupled with considerable experience with Python-3 or Java / Kotlin. As a Data programmer you will be experienced with App development (preference for Android based platforms) and embedded computer systems running Linux along with previous exposure to: Git version control, agile methodologies, database design and project management systems such as Jira.
You will be familiar with cloud-based computing platforms, such as AWS and Azure, will have experience interacting with these via API calls, and experience in creating scalable web applications that ingest and use JSON formatted data including development of data dashboards (such as Microsoft Power BI) and reporting tools.
You will have a proven ability to solve problems independently and under limited supervision within a small team and experience working within multi-discipline small technical teams to meet performance, cost and schedule obligations and maintaining awareness of technology trends.
