About the Role: The Manufacturing Assistant & Warehouse All-arounder plays a vital role in supporting the efficient operation of our manufacturing and production processes.
This position involves working closely within the manufacturing team to perform a variety of tasks, ensuring the smooth flow of operations and the timely completion of production targets.
The Manufacturing Assistant contributes to maintaining a safe and organized work environment while upholding the highest standards of quality and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Forklift Operation – Safely operate forklift equipment to transport materials, products and supplies within the warehouse.
Manufacturing and Production Support - Carry out tasks such as loading materials, operating machines, and assembling components as directed by supervisors.
Assisting in the setup and preparation of production equipment and machinery as well as monitoring production lines and equipment, promptly reporting any malfunctions or issues.
Material Handling - Receive, inspect, and organize raw materials and components for use in the manufacturing process and ensure accurate inventory tracking and documentation of materials used and products completed.
Quality Control - Participate in quality checks and inspections to ensure products meet specified standards.
Identify and report defects, discrepancies, or non-conforming items to supervisors.
House Keeping and Safety – Maintain a clean and organized work area, including equipment, tools, and storage spaces ensuring they are free from hazards and following all established safety protocols.
Participate in safety meetings, training sessions and promoting a culture of safety awareness.
Communication – Collaborate with team members, supervisors and other departments to coordinate workflow, address warehouse related issues and provide updates as necessary.
Other Duties – The above list is not exhaustive and the role may change to meet the operational needs of the business.
Required Knowledge and Qualities:
Basic understanding of manufacturing and production processes.
Basic math skills for counting, calculations and order verification.
Physical ability to lift and carry moderately heavy objects.
Ability to operate a forklift and various manufacturing machines / power tools.
Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
High level of attention to detail and ability to finish tasks at a high quality.
Strong understanding of safety protocols related to forklift operation and material handling.
Qualifications: Forklift License (LF Minimum + LO Preferred).
Work Experience: Power tools and woodworking machinery.
Must-Have: Australian working rights.
