Full-time (36.25 hours per week) Fixed term to December 2025 Based at the Cairns Nguma-bada campus, Smithfield HEWL 8: $105,790 - $121,481 per annum plus up to 17% employer superannuation contributions, leave loading and other generous employee benefits. ABOUT THE ROLE As an Academic Support Advisor, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the success of Indigenous postgraduate students in Higher Degree by Research (HDR) programs like the Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) by guiding them in developing essential study and academic skills needed to achieve their goals. This is a deeply rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact by developing tailored learning support plans, guiding academic strategies, and championing continuous improvement. You'll empower tutors, implement proactive intervention strategies, and lead pre-study programs to boost student readiness, capability, and achievement.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE A postgraduate degree (MPhil or PhD) will be highly valued, but we're more interested in your passion and expertise! Contemporary knowledge of Indigenous Higher Education policy imperatives. Proven experience in developing, leading, and evaluating educational programs for Indigenous students. Proficiency in data analytics, learning technologies, and Microsoft Office suite. Excellent case management, organisational, and problem-solving skills. An ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
