We currently have a position available for an experienced Diesel Mechanic for immediate start at our Warrnambool, Victoria site.
In this role, you will be required to work alongside a crew of like-minded mechanical tradespeople to deliver maintenance onsite and reporting to the Transport Manager. The successful applicant will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles, mobile plant and equipment in a timely manner, to ensure the operating needs of the business are met.
Responsibilities Perform repair and maintenance of heavy vehicles, and equipment in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies. Undertake detailed inspections of heavy vehicles and equipment, correct equipment deficiencies, and perform preventive maintenance on company-owned equipment. Identify and repair or report worn or failed components. Maintain accurate records (time, repair orders, and parts usage) on computer. Follow administrative procedures for completion of DVR's as instructed. Complete service forms, brake forms, and other paperwork accurately and legibly in accordance with company guidelines. Experiences Trade qualification as a heavy vehicle/plant diesel mechanic and can provide evidence of your qualification. Good mechanical aptitude with basic knowledge of welding and fabrication would be an advantage. Some experience within maintenance-related fields performing troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance on compactors, containers, and related equipment is advantageous. Ability to troubleshoot and make repairs to basic wiring, control wiring, and hydraulic systems. You have the right to work in Australia. You must pass a drug & alcohol test and be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical if required.
