About the role Unique opportunity for an experienced IT generalist to champion excellence by providing performance improvement, modernisation initiatives, contributing to innovation, and making an impact relating to Digital Technology for SeaRoad and the Tasmanian transport industry.
Searoad has exciting major business transformation projects underway and has just undergone a complete IT infrastructure rebuild leveraging the latest technologies.
This role will be a key driver, and the successful applicant will have a unique opportunity to make an immediate impact delivering sustainable value to technologies within the organisation to enable better, smarter, faster efficiencies to enhance our capability.
This is a technical hands-on role focusing on level 3 resolution of Digital Technology (DT) service tickets, continuous improvement, cyber security, networking, infrastructure, and supporting key DT project initiatives. The role is critical in supporting the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability and security.
The role is expected to deliver a superior level of support, which includes rotational on-call support as well as some travel, mostly local within Tasmania, and on occasion to Melbourne.
The role will require excellent customer service skills and will have shared responsibility in resolving/handling issues of any degree of difficulty, noting that the majority of infrastructure is backed by 24x7 vendor support, and ensure high-priority matters are resolved in a timely manner, all whilst demonstrating excellent communication and time management skills. Ongoing training and development will be fully supported.
In addition to having a broad knowledge base and demonstrated experience, the role will bring a passionate and challenging drive to help proactively assist the team in achieving all objectives. You will need to be able to self-time-manage, be self-motivated, and confident multi-tasking. You will have the mandate to make decisions and execute, as well as be able to work well independently and with a small team.
A key consideration for this role is to provide effective customer service support and system reliability and availability across all SeaRoad locations. Further, the role is required to provide a seamless operation while minimising, as far as is practicable, any disruption or risk to business operations. Finally, it is important to ensure compliance with all prevailing safety legislation and adhering to best practice safety systems of work.
Qualifications Demonstrated, provable experience in level 3 and infrastructure support Minimum of 3 years experience. Skills and experience The role requires a wide variety of skillsets, and you will have the opportunity to work with industry-leading platforms in the following areas:
