About the Role As an IT System Analyst, you will focus on modernising and optimising our mainframe systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with cloud and modern technologies.
Your expertise in COBOL, IT service management, and system integration will be key to delivering high-quality, scalable solutions that align with our business goals.
Key Responsibilities Analyse business requirements and develop tailored IT solutions.
Design and implement IT systems, focusing on COBOL-based mainframe applications.
Optimise existing COBOL code and manage system integration, including API design and development.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system design documents, specifications, and user manuals.
Conduct system testing, quality assurance, and troubleshoot issues related to hardware, software, or networks.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement process improvements and new tools.
Ensure IT systems adhere to compliance and security frameworks, such as HIPAA or PCI-DSS.
Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, particularly in mainframe modernisation and cloud integration.
Participate in IT service management processes, including incident, problem, and change management.
Mandatory Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in IT system analysis, design, and implementation.
Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, and mainframe tools such as TSO, ISPF, and SDSF.
Strong knowledge of IT service management frameworks, such as ITIL.
Experience with system integration, including API design and development.
Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
Experience with cloud-based infrastructure, such as AWS or Azure.
Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git.

Strong understanding of business operations and processes.
Certification in IT service management (e.g., ITIL Foundation) is a plus.

Exposure to modern mainframe technologies like COBOL-IT or Micro Focus.
Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts.
Certification in software development, such as AWS Certified Developer or Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate.
Experience with project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
