School of Law and Society, Sunshine Coast Campus, Sippy DownsLevel 5, Step 1 $51.36 per hour, plus up to 11.5% employer superannuationMAIC/UniSC Road Safety Research CollaborationThe Opportunity Under the direction of the MAIC/UniSC Road Safety Research Collaboration Leader, the IT Support Specialist will be responsible for providing technical support to research academic staff using specialised technology equipment in their research projects.
You will: Maintain centre's specialist/IT equipment hardware and software systems (e.g., driving simulators, eye tracker, research vehicle) and assist with the development of new functionalities for research studies using such equipment.Provide technical support to facilitate the collection and pre-processing of data for research projects by RSRC academic staff using centre's specialist/IT equipment.Assist with the production of procedure manuals for staff to be able to use the technological equipment.About you: You excel in collaborating with non-technical research staff to plan new capabilities and address technical challenges, showcasing your ability to bridge technical and non-technical perspectives effectively. Your strong personal qualities, combined with a collegial approach, contribute to creating and sustaining a positive and supportive work environment that promotes collaboration, achievement, and professional growth.
To be successful you will possess: Bachelor of Information Technology (or other relevant discipline); or Associate Degree of Information Technology with relevant work-related experience; completion of advanced certificate and extensive relevant experience in a tertiary setting; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.Programming experience including in languages such as C, Python, SQL to record, read, synchronise, and upload sensor data to databases.
