Graduate IT Service Desk Administrator, Ongoing Melbourne CBD close to Flinders Street stationBrand new ongoing roleYour role As a member of the ICT team, the IT Service Desk Administrator plays a pivotal role in supporting our organisation's IT infrastructure by providing efficient and effective technical assistance to internal users.
The role includes technical tasks such as troubleshooting system, application, account and security issues, verification of hardware and software set ups, device and application provisioning and maintenance, daily monitoring of the status of systems and infrastructure.
It may also involve after hours' support needs and user training regarding use of organisation systems.
In general, the role contributes to the development and improvement of the ICT environment.
Reporting to the Team Leader, IT Service Desk, this entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in IT support while contributing to the smooth operation of our technology systems.
What you do Technical Support: Provide first-line technical support to internal users via phone, email, or in-person.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues promptly and effectively.Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of IT procedures, troubleshooting steps, and system configurations.
Contribute to the development of knowledge base articles to facilitate self-service for users.Display customer service-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.Incident Management: Log and prioritise support requests using our ticketing system.
Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff as necessary and ensure timely resolution.User Training: Assist users in understanding and utilising IT systems effectively.
Provide basic training and guidance on software applications and IT best practices.Collaboration: Collaborate with other IT team members to address technical challenges and improve IT service delivery.
Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvement.Continuous Learning: Stay updated on emerging technologies and IT trends through self-study and training opportunities.
Actively seek to enhance technical skills and knowledge to improve job performance.Who you work with Under the direction of the IT Service Desk Team Leader, you will be working with our service providers, liaising to maintain service delivery standards for business operations.
Working under the guidance and direction of the IT Service Desk Team Leader, there will be training and up-skilling, planning and maintenance of the ICT operating environment.
About you Familiarity with Windows Operating Systems and common productivity software such as Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to recognise, analyse and effectively solve problems in a timely and organised manner using industry best practicesHigh level of verbal and written communications including demonstrated experience developing technical documentation and manualsDemonstrated ability to identify and improve processes and proceduresProven ability to work successfully either independently or in a team environment, provide advice, prioritise activities, undertake multiple tasks and consistently achieve outcomes within strict timelines.Understanding of IT operating models and service frameworks, including the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL).Qualifications Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fieldBasic understanding of IT concepts such as networking, operating systems, and troubleshootingFamiliarity with Windows Operating Systems and common productivity software such as Microsoft Office Suite.There are many reasons to work at VMIA, here is how we will support you:
