Position Description IT Project Manager
Purpose
The role is the accountable manager, responsible for leading, planning, implementation, collaboration and leadership of ICT software application projects. The primary objective of this position is to deliver technical based projects with a customer focus on the end users' business needs.
The ability to build and maintain solid relationships with both internal and external stakeholders is an important element of this role, as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills.
The role is required to coordinate project teams and stakeholders, set up change management and monitor and report on project outcomes is accountable for projects to be delivered on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.
A broad technical understanding of ICT and how technologies can be used to achieve innovative and successful business outcomes is key to the success of this role.
As an ongoing commitment to the organisation, you will be responsible for delivering the best service to our community and to improve residents' quality life; continuously, smartly and efficiently in the scope of your daily work.
• Manage ICT Projects by developing work schedules and taking ownership of tasks to meet various project deliverables and milestones, with an emphasis on resolving issues and implementing corrective actions.
• Assume a leading technical expert role with engaging the business to determine what ICT technologies can be applied and implemented.
• Handling project dependencies, interfaces, and risk management to ensure the project's success.
• Assume a Senior Business Analyst role in planning and coordinating activities to develop initiation documentation, business cases, business requirements, technical requirements, business process analysis, modelling, documentation of As-Is and ToBe processes and gap analysis, testing scripts, training, change management documents, etc. Any documentation required as part of the assigned project(s).
• Develop, implement and maintain appropriate supporting documentation for project.
• Accountable for the projects being delivered within budget requirements.
• Develop effective working relationships with all project stakeholders to drive business activities to support the delivery of projects.
• Provide effective coaching, mentoring and support to develop and empower team members.
• Be an innovative, positive, and dynamic leader for the organisation.
• Coordinate and manage relevant IT vendors for ongoing change and release management.

• Bachelor's degree qualifications in Information Technology with demonstrated experience in a leading ICT role.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar or related role
• Experience of coordinating project activities in alignment with a defined Project Management Framework
• Experience in leading project activities across the full project lifecycle; from project concept, through implementation & execution to closure.
• Demonstrated experience of coordinating and liaising with business stakeholders, SME's, ICT specialists and IT vendors to produce high-quality project outcomes.
• Demonstrated expertise in the management and coordination of ICT vendors to ensure deliverables meet agree objectives.
• Demonstrated experience of developing project artefacts to assist and support project activities and decisions.
• Excellent time management and prioritisation skills and proven ability to be flexible to meet changing priorities, workloads, and urgent matters across a number of project/initiatives.
• Ability to facilitate face-to-face and virtual workshops to deliver required outcomes.
• Working knowledge of the implementation of cloud-based software applications.
• Detailed understanding of corporate information systems and data administration
• Experience in the management of project budgets, project performance and financial reporting.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
• Qualifications in ITIL Certification (Foundation v4 or later) for IT service management.
• Project Management Certification.
• BA Certification.
• Proven experience with process mapping software and documentation
Position Description IT Project Manager
• Relevant experience in a similar sized organisation
• Demonstrated experience in gathering business, process and system requirements
• Strong analytical, conceptual and decision-making skills
• Knowledge of emerging and innovative technologies.
Standard conditions
• Satisfactory completion of a National Police Clearance (will be arranged by the City of Marion)
• Satisfactory completion of applicable Medical Assessment (will be arranged by the City of Marion)
• Must be either an Australian resident or possess the legal right to work in Australia, with the ability to provide documentation of a valid work visa.
• Comply with existing Work, Health and Safety legislation and regulation obligations and apply "Think Safe Live Well" philosophy.
• Embrace ethical and moral behavior and report any suspected instances of fraud and/or corruption in accordance with Fraud and Corruption Management and the Code of Conduct.
• The incumbent will perform other duties as required.
Other conditions specific to the role
• Must hold a valid, full (unrestricted) driver's license in accordance with South Australian requirements.
• Some out of hours work and travel as planned and agreed.
