Management (Information & Communication Technology) Join a mid-size Federal Government agency as IT Portfolio Manager!NOTE: This role requires an active Baseline security clearance. Your new company This mid-scale Federal Government Department plays a key role in maintaining the quality and regulation of critical pockets within Australia's health sector. They currently require an experienced ICT Portfolio Manager to work as part of their Digital Program Management Office. Your new role Your responsibilities would include: Portfolio Management Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of a portfolio of Digital and ICT projects and ensure there is a consistent and effective approach to portfolio management and investment planning. Develop and maintain the portfolio roadmap, including project timelines, resource allocation, and budgets. Establish a suitable portfolio structure with an alignment between the outcomes of the projects and the Commission's business goals. Strategic Alignment Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure that the portfolio of projects supports the Commission's strategic and operational objectives and priorities. Provide recommendations for project prioritisation and resource allocation based on strategic and operational alignment and business value. Project Coordination Coordinate and manage interdependencies and allocation of resources between projects within the portfolio to ensure seamless integration and effective delivery. Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to address issues and ensure successful project outcomes. Stakeholder Engagement Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather feedback, address concerns, and ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle. Guiding stakeholders to develop meaningful and supportive relationships across the Department. Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance portfolio management practices and project delivery. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the Digital Program Management Office. What you'll need to succeed Extensive experience (typically 5+ years) in portfolio management, project management, or program management within large, complex organisations, preferably in the public sector. Proven track record of managing a portfolio of projects and programs, including successful delivery within scope, time, and budget constraints. Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices, with experience in aligning projects with strategic objectives. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively. Demonstrated ability to manage resources, budgets, and risks, and to address challenges proactively and strategically. Relevant tertiary qualifications in project management, business administration, information technology, or a related field. Additional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are highly desirable.
