ABOUT THE ROLE An exciting opportunity now exists for an IT Operations Manager to join our dynamic ICT Department. This is an ongoing full-time position that will manage a team of three.
The IT Operations Manager will lead the Helpdesk team to provide efficient, friendly, and solutions-focused support to the school community, with a particular emphasis on service quality and continuous improvement. The role will oversee the lifecycle of staff and student devices and learning spaces, and support multiple applications and installations across the school, including AV technology. This includes managing and supporting the coordination of responses to IT and AV requests, device purchasing, deployment and maintenance, and IT services reporting and asset management. The role also includes providing high-level technical support, mentoring, and training to the Helpdesk team.
The IT Operations Manager will manage request escalations and relationships with external vendors and service providers and create resources and documentation to improve end-user knowledge and ensure business continuity.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Demonstrate a strong customer service culture, ensuring a service delivery approach that is responsive within reasonable timeframes to address the issues, inquiries, and requests of staff, students, and parents. Coordinate the Helpdesk staff in a positive, clearly communicative, and supportive manner while contributing to the overall development and improvement of ICT support within the school. Coordinate ICT staff on allocating tickets and manage the timely completion and documentation of tickets by staff including escalating, coordinating, and monitoring higher-level support. Monitor and record software licensing. Deployment of staff devices, Chromebooks, and iPads via MDM (JAMF, Google Workplace, and InTune). Assist with the development of the BYOD portal and coordination of BYOD laptop rollouts, including orders, delivery, unpacking, scanning, assigning, and preparing laptops. Oversee and liaise with external contractors, vendors, and support organisations regarding laptop repairs and process insurance claims as well as purchase of hardware. Perform various other duties as required. ABOUT YOU You are a people person, with keen analytical, technical, and communication skills. You hold previous experience in leading ICT service delivery teams and have demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in a similar role. You are able to work with minimal supervision and be accountable for outcomes, as well as hold a high level of knowledge regarding legal and confidentiality requirements. You will hold appropriate qualifications or relevant experience in an ICT setting.
