About the Division The Information Management and Technology Division (IMTD) leads digital transformation for the Department including Victorian government schools. The Division architects, manages and supports the largest technology network in Victoria, supporting a user base of approximately 750,000 staff and students, including the implementation of solutions on the department's cloud environment (IaaS), enterprise cloud platforms (PaaS) and software (SaaS).
About the Role A fantastic opportunity exists within the Business Services Branch within the IMTD for a detailed IT Audit and Compliance specialist to manage the implementation of audit actions for IMTD. Reporting to the Manager of the Business Management Services team, the role requires a strong IT background, combined with the ability to prepare clear and concise briefs and detailed reports for senior management. It also involves liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
It's important to note that this position does not involve conducting audits but focuses on audit and compliance processes through supporting the Division in the implementation of audit actions to address the associated risks.
Responsibilities: Preparing and writing detailed audit briefs and reports for senior management, leveraging IT knowledge to address the technical aspects of the actions.Reviewing and providing feedback on audit reports provided by Internal Audit to ensure clarity, accuracy, and completeness of their findings.Managing the audit and compliance activities for the Division from conception to completion, ensuring IMTD completes and implements action actions efficiently and effectively.Actively engaging with stakeholders, including the internal audit team, to ensure alignment and understanding of the audit requirements and recommendations.Coordinating meetings between various stakeholders and facilitating discussions to address audit findings and compliance issues.Identifying opportunities for improving audit processes.Maintaining and updating documentation related to the audit findings, recommendations, and compliance actions.Providing regular updates to senior management on the status of audit recommendations; as well as delivering high-quality, well-considered assurance advice.Supporting the development and implementation of IT audit actions, to improve internal controls and ensure compliance.Attributes: Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports and correspondence.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously.Proven ability to initiate, deliver and manage workloads on time and to a high standard.Ability to monitor client and stakeholder expectations and effectively manage stakeholder issues to ensure positive outcomes for all parties.Desirable Qualifications and Experience: Proven experience in IT Audit coordination, IT Compliance, or a similar role.Strong understanding and experience of audit processes.Prior government experience is desirable but not essential.Further Information: For more details regarding this position please see the attached position description for the capabilities to address in application.
