Job Description Irrigation Technician Our Irrigation Technician reports directly to our Golf Course Management team, and is responsible for ensuring that the Golf Course at Fairmont Chateau Whistler remains in immaculate condition.
This is a full time,summer seasonalposition, with opportunity to join our Snow Removal team, should you wish to stay through winter.
Starting Rate of Pay:$24.30 per hour
We recognize tenure through our compensation - hourly rates increase after 6 months and then yearly to three years. At three years the pay rate for this role would be $29.85.
Job Duties Include: Operates, maintains and repairs a complex irrigation system, including leaks in distribution lines, valves, control lines and sprinkler headsMaintains and repairs the master and satellite controllersCompressor experience required for blow out of the systemPeriodically inspects the various components of the irrigation system to ensure that they are operating properlyConstant attention to preventative maintenance schedule, keeping records to ensure that all areas of the course are working to optimal performance at all timesMonitors problem areas and finds solutionsQualifications 1 year previous experience as an Irrigation Technician is requiredMinimum of 3 years previous experience in golf course maintenance is requiredWorking knowledge of Stratus II Irrigation Program is preferredPost Secondary Education in Turf Management is an assetWorking knowledge of basic electricity and hydraulics related to an irrigation systemValid BC Driver's license and steel-toed boots are requiredJob Perks & Benefits: Subsidized staff accommodation providedComplimentary meal in our staff cafeteria per shiftAccess to our Employee Travel Program, with discounts on room rates and food & beverage at Fairmont & Accor properties worldwideHotel leisure benefits including Golf/Ski passesVisa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
