Ip/Tech Lawyer, 4+Pqe – Melbourne, Australia

Our client, a major international law firm with offices across the world's major cities also has a strong presence in Australia.
The firm's IP & Technology Group in Melbourne covers the full range of IP commercialisation and licensing, information technology, supply and distribution, franchising, procurement and privacy work, as well as trademark and patent prosecution and portfolio management, copyright and designs, and domain names. The team handles IP litigation and dispute resolution too, and most of the work has a significant international component.
The Group is very busy, and to service their clients' requirements they are looking for an additional mid-Senior Associate. While naturally they would be delighted to welcome returning Australian Lawyers, they would also be interested in candidates from elsewhere, including New Zealand and the UK.
In this role, the lucky successful candidate will work collaboratively with leading Intellectual Property and Technology lawyers in a highly cohesive and friendly team. The practice is growing very fast, and excellent career growth and development opportunities abound. You will have direct contact with clients, and be mentored by the senior Lawyers in the practice.
In order to be considered for this opportunity you will have: A strong academic background;Probably at least 4 years' post-qualification experience in transactional commercial contracts, IP or IT matters including drafting contracts and licences, assignments, software or franchise agreements;Expertise in privacy or technology law or franchising is particularly highly regarded;Strong legal, analytical and transaction management and execution skills;Excellent communication, professionalism and interpersonal skills;An organised and methodical approach, and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail;The ability to work within a fast paced environment and meet deadlines;A proactive and confident attitude with a high level of initiative; and, most importantly:A desire to bring your career Australia!An excellent salary and benefits offering, generous relocation package, high quality work, and genuine long term career prospects await successful applicants.
