The opportunity to join our team The Investment Services and Solutions team (IS&S) within MLC Asset Management Services provides operational management and support to the Asset Management business units in the achievement of their objectives. IS&S manages the operational and investment obligations imposed under Investment Management Agreements, Advisory Agreements and Principal Investment Advisory Agreements. This role serves part of a critical function covering onboarding of investment managers related to account opening and preparation of documentation lodgement.
Key responsibilities: Onboard Investment Manager on custodial account Assist in the conduct of execution, maintenance, and management of documentation related to investment manager agreements. Manage internal stakeholders' expectations of the onboarding timeline. Work with the legal team on matters related to compliance issues and review of contractual agreements. Monitor investment managers to ensure compliance with agreements and any regulatory requirements. Maintain Powers of Attorney & Authorisations Register. Maintain up-to-date process documentation. Administer proxy voting process to ensure casting of votes are implemented accurately and correctly. Initiate and implement areas for process improvement. What you will bring: Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Legal or a related discipline. Proven experience with knowledge of the investment management industry with strong experience in investment operations, documentation and/or compliance. Experience with regulatory monitoring (ASIC/APRA), investment and performance analysis and due diligence. Good understanding of global markets account opening requirements and procedures. Ideally, exposure and experience in negotiations of legal documents and risk and compliance management relating to the asset/investment management industry. Audit or internal audit at a custodian or fund manager and an understanding of controls review. Strong organisation and attention to detail. Continuous improvement & aptitude to develop a broad range of skills. Critical thinking & investigation skills. Disciplined in record keeping & systematising.
