About Our Client Our client is a part of a wider group that is backed by a multi-billion dollar international listed business.
This division is newly created with the intention of making investments in the mining and resources sector.
Job Description The Investment Manager will play a crucial role in identifying, analysing, and managing investment opportunities within the global mining sector.
This position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to develop comprehensive investment strategies.
The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of the mining sector and a proven track record of successful investment management.
Key Responsibilities: Global Mining Industry Analysis: Conduct comprehensive studies of the global mining industry, including market trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes.
Identify emerging opportunities and potential risks within the sector.
Public Mining Companies Analysis: Analyse and evaluate public mining companies listed on major global stock exchanges.
Assess company performance, financial health, and strategic positioning.
Supply Chain Analysis: Examine the full supply chain of chosen minerals, from extraction to end-use.
Identify key players, bottlenecks, and opportunities for investment within the supply chain.
Investment Opportunities Portfolio: Develop and manage a portfolio of investment opportunities focused on selected minerals.
Create detailed investment proposals, including risk assessments and expected returns.
Explore investment opportunities beyond public companies, including private equity and joint ventures.
The Successful Applicant The ideal candidate will have a robust background in the mining sector, with hands-on experience in investment analysis and portfolio management.
The candidate should possess a strategic mindset, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to identify and capitalise on investment opportunities within the mining supply chain.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Geology, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree would be valued highly.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in investment management, preferably within the mining sector.
Experience working with or for major mining companies would be valued highly.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed investment decisions.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey investment strategies and recommendations clearly and persuasively.
Proficiency in financial modelling, valuation techniques, and investment analysis tools.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
