What it's aboutWho we are looking forFor this position, we are looking for an investment funds lawyer in our Sydney office to assist with our growing Australian business, focusing on fund structuring for our Australian superannuation and institutional clients.
Partners Group's fund structuring team is responsible for developing highly innovative investment structures for investors globally.
At Partners Group, the structuring team plays a pivotal role in fund strategy and development, as well as ongoing servicing and maintenance.
Structuring team members work closely with the firm's client relationship management, investment and operations teams, external service providers, external counsel as well as with clients to deliver market leading products.What will you be responsible forManaging the design, development, and implementation of innovative structuring solutions for the Australian market and beyond, primarily customised separate accounts for superannuation clients.Leading client conversions for investments in traditional commingled funds including negotiating terms with clients and their external counsel, and preparing and operationalising side letters.Preparing and reviewing agreements relating to investment structures such as limited partnership agreements and prospectuses.Efficiently managing complex structuring projects from a legal, regulatory, operational and project management aspect.Instructing and managing external legal counsel and other service providers.Developing your own service catalogue with full ownership and high autonomy.Keeping abreast of regulatory/industry developments and providing periodic updates to internal parties.Supporting client facing business development efforts by contributing to client meetings and presentations.What we valueA genuine interest in investment markets and fund structures.Self-motivated and proactive approach to work with strong initiative and desire to learn and succeed.Highly detail oriented.Strong communication, collaboration and organisational skills.What we expectAt least five years of relevant work experience as a private practice and/or in-house legal professional, ideally in Australia, and preferably focused on fund formation and/or private markets.Familiarity with latest regulatory developments shaping the private markets and/or superannuation industry in Australia.Knowledge of global fund jurisdictions, such as Guernsey and Luxembourg, and fund structures for private equity, private real estate, private debt, private infrastructure and royalties which may include limited partnerships, Australian unit trusts, LLCs, corporate entities, trusts, REITs, rated note funds, etc.Ability to consider varying tax considerations in determining appropriate fund structures is a plus.Top academic credentials in law.
