About the Role This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing team, as we look for an Investment Director to lead the investment in and finance of Pacific's infrastructure transactions with a focus on greenfield infrastructure, PPPs and renewable projects. This role is responsible for Pacific's equity investment process, arranging debt, arranging equity and financial structuring. The role extends to screening development opportunities, negotiation of risk allocation, contractual documentation, oversight of due diligence processes, development of strategies for new asset classes, management of relationships with financiers and asset management support.
The Investment Director is located in Sydney and is a role in which you will:
Source, develop, successfully close and invest in greenfield infrastructure, energy and other complex projects targeted by Pacific Partnerships and CIMIC. Screen energy and greenfield infrastructure investment opportunities, facilitate partner selection, and provide informed and transparent advice to key stakeholders regarding finance, documentation and risk allocation. Commercial negotiation of key transaction, finance and/or project documentation, as well as participating in commercial interactions with and presentations to project clients. Securing binding finance commitments on competitive terms, including rigorously pursuing alternative and innovative finance solutions that deliver value to clients, Pacific Partnerships and CIMIC. Support CFO and relevant Development Director by assisting in selection process of advisers (financial advisor, model audit, insurance, tax and accounting), debt and equity partners. Implementation of business model and CIMIC Group's integrated approach to projects and appropriately represent the interests of key stakeholders. Contribute to the management of relationships with equity providers, project finance banks and institutional debt investors and other financiers. Monitor and, as required, provide support to Pacific Partnerships' assets including refinancing, engagement with financiers and other strategic initiatives. About You Here are some of the aspects and experiences we are looking for in the successful candidate:
Tertiary Degree (Bachelor level) qualifications in Finance/Economics/Commerce, Engineering, Law, Maths or Science. Double degree or additional post graduate studies will be well regarded. Minimum 10 years' relevant working experience. Lead, sponsor, developer or advisory level exposure to PPP / Energy / Project Finance. Previous debt and/or equity raising experience. Commercial acumen – understanding of the commercial framework applicable to project finance and other financial transactions. Negotiation – ability to conduct complex commercial negotiations with multiple stakeholders, including debt providers and equity investors. Highly developed financial analysis and understanding, as well as ability to oversee financial modelling with prior experience building detailed financial models. Strong relationship building and influencing skills. Decision making skills, e.g. quick thinking, decisive and confident in the outcome. Financial structuring, synthesizing tax/accounting/legal advice and innovation to deliver competitive solutions. Infrastructure sponsor/equity, project finance banking, financial advisory, M&A, debt arranging or infrastructure experience is well regarded.
