All while staying committed to our member first ethos as a proud Industry Fund.About the roleThe Investment Data Analyst is part of the Investment Analytics & Insights team at Cbus, which provides Cbus with reliable, accurate and timely investment data and reporting to inform investment operations and investment decisions. The role will work closely with front, middle office and back-office teams as the first point of contact for data and system issues, providing day to day support for the Investment Data Platform (IDP) and associated reporting. The role will also collaborate with other teams in Investments to enhance the IDP to support the changing nature of the business.The role provides a plethora of opportunities to contribute to data initiatives and involves working closely with internal teams as well as external technology suppliers and data providers to deliver sound, robust, well governed data and reporting solutions across the Investment department.Key AccountabilitiesPlatform SupportCollaborate with Investments team to document and implement data/reporting requirements.Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues on the Investment Data Management platform (IDP).Maintain the platform, including reports, data, and workflows.Perform annual portfolio reviews and ensure data accuracy.Train new team members on IDP and Rebalancer, creating user manuals.Enhance IDP checks to prevent potential issues.Reporting SupportEnsure accuracy and reconciliation of daily/ monthly holdings data, enhancing and automating checks.Provide timely regular and ad-hoc reporting to internal/external stakeholders.Manage workspace access, permissions, and governance in Power BI.Data Issue TrackingIdentify opportunities for data quality and process improvements.Implement tools for data discovery and end-to-end data lineage tracking.Use JIRA for data issue tracking and reporting.Define and automate data quality checks, monitor test results, and resolve issues.Provide monthly data issue reports to relevant stakeholders.Key selection criteriaRequiredTertiary qualifications in Finance, Investments, Mathematics, IT, Data Science, or related fields.Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in the Financial Services Industry, preferably with a large super fund.Understanding of investment data and processes, particularly multi-asset class structures.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for managing and analyzing large investment data sets.Proficiency in SQL for querying, data manipulation, and ensuring data integrity.Experience with statistical analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Python).Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills for stakeholder collaboration.Commitment to Cbus Values and working in a membership-based organization.PreferredPostgraduate qualifications or interest in the CFA Program.Experience with investment data platforms and collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence, Jira, Teams).Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, SSRS) and third-party investment systems (e.g., Factset, Bloomberg).Belong at CbusWe value difference, and embrace people with diverse backgrounds, experiences, gender identities, abilities and thinking styles.
