Our client is seeking an Investment Data Analyst to join their investment data Analyst team. The team is responsible for improved IDM capabilities that will provide high quality trustworthy investment data that is complete, accurate, timely, accessible, and available when required.
Responsibilities
Process the daily investment data received from the custodians and data vendors
Manage the data warehouse and all user permissions as well as integrate with other systems
Create records of funds managers with agency partners with and play a role in reconciliation
Produce standard operating procedures for Investment Data Management system
The core function of this role is to serve the data needs by performing Master Data Management (including processing checks, reconciliations, whilst driving process improvements and remediation of persistent data issues) to ensure accurate and timely data delivery to our stakeholders on a day-to-day basis.
Provide market data and technical support to the Agency for all data queries.
Daily monitoring of exception management for data queries.
Create and maintain a benchmark and a market data registry for the Agency to understand what market data is available for consumption.
Monitoring existing checks and work with the IDM manager to suggest and implement new data controls for market and benchmark data within the Agency and through our partners SKILLS
Must have
1. A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in the financial services industry, particularly in private markets data including private equity, unlisted and listed property and infrastructure, and other alternative investments
2. Proven experience in data management, including data input, identifying and resolving data quality issues.
3. Familiarity with investment data and managing investment team relationships
4. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to problem-solve quickly.
5. Strong communication skills to effectively collect information from stakeholders and present complex data clearly to various stakeholders.
6. Ability to work in a hybrid work environment.
7. Project experience performing business analysis responsibilities
8. Working knowledge of contemporary business analysis methodologies, practices, techniques and tools
9. Practical understanding of project delivery lifecycles, methodologies and governance practices
10. Proven ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of stakeholders, including executives, managers, SMEs, outsourced partners and consultants Nice to have
1. Advanced Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages like Python, R, SQL, or SAS. Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI would also be beneficial.
2. Experience with Data Governance: Understanding of data governance principles and strategies could be valuable, especially in a role that prioritizes data quality and management.
3. Certifications: Relevant certifications, like Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) or Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), might suggest a deeper commitment to the field and a solid foundation of knowledge.
4. Industry Knowledge: Deep knowledge of the financial markets, particularly trends and regulatory changes, can help analysts understand the context of the data they're working with.
5. Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to think critically, identify patterns or discrepancies in data sets, and propose practical solutions.
6. Educational Background: An advanced degree in a related field like data science, economics, or finance could be beneficial.
7. Familiarity with Hamilton Lane private markets administrative tool and Data platform is a plus.
