The Investment Accountant role will play a critical role and be accountable for Suncorp's investment general ledger mapping and reporting. The role provides Financial Control Subject Matter Expertise in the transition to a new investment custodian. This is a 12 month full time opportunity. What you'll do:
Enable Financial Control operational readiness of a change in investment custodian including general ledger mapping, testing and reporting. Lead the delivery of technical accounting advices in relation to investment portfolios as required. Proactively liaise with auditors in relation to potential positions taken, new or amended disclosures and other matters that can be cleared proactively prior to the commencement of the audit planning. Responsible for new procedures and the updating of existing procedures for investment statutory & regulatory reporting requirements. Identify opportunities for standardisation and process improvement. Work with internal stakeholders to ensure all reporting deliverables are met. Value contribution to project team ensuring deliverables are met on time. Review reporting disclosures prepared by the Custodian, liaise with the key stakeholders in the Business in relation to issues as they arise. Promote an environment of continuous improvement and simplification, encouraging innovation, creativity and lateral thinking.
What you'll bring:
Chartered Accountant or CPA, or working towards (mandatory). 5 years accounting experience in the financial services industry with emphasis on Investments statutory and regulatory reporting (desired). 5+ years of financial reporting experience (mandatory). Strong communication and interpersonal skills required, both written and verbal.
