It does this by providing specialist services including participant assessment, audit and monitoring, investigations, intelligence, outreach and education.The Branch comprises of four sections and specific work includes:Compliance and Enforcement Section – undertaking proactive and reactive compliance activities including investigations and developing and delivering compliance and engagement programs to prevent, detect and address serious non-compliance across schemes administrated by the agency.Intelligence and Assessment Section – provide a centralised intelligence function that produces tactical, operational and strategic insights to support business areas.Participant Assessment and Monitoring Section - participant assessment as part of scheme entry to assess fit and proper person requirements and the development of strategic compliance policy framework including compliance priorities.Scheme Audit and Assurance – providing a centralised scheme audit and assurance function and administering the agency's audit framework and the regulation of Registered Greenhouse and Energy Auditors.About the SectionThe Compliance and Enforcement Section performs and delivers the following functions:Conduct investigations into serious non-compliance and fraud in line with Commonwealth legislation and best practice standards.Deliver agreed compliance outcomes, including early intervention, administrative sanctions and civil and criminal proceedings.Provide guidance and support to operational teams to build operational capacity, and strengthen cross-agency connections, in identifying and developing appropriate responses to non-compliance.Develop and deliver compliance and engagement programs to prevent, detect and address serious non-compliance across schemes administrated by the agency.Administratively support the branches operational response to serious non-compliance.Role Responsibilities and DutiesConduct or provide support to multiple routine investigations into suspected breaches of the law and aid Senior Investigators on more complex matters.Prepare and present briefs of evidence for criminal and civil proceedings, and reports for administrative actions under guidance and within agreed timeframes.Identify opportunities and develop, implement and/or improve procedures.Produce accurate and timely advice and written work for a range of internal and external audiences.Establish and maintain effective and productive working relationships with agency staff, and counterparts in other agencies to achieve section and branch goals.Under guidance, develop and participate in proactive regulatory activities including site visits and compliance monitoring activities.Deliver outcomes consistent with the agency's Compliance, Education and Enforcement Policy.Maintain meticulous records and be proficient in the use of our case management system COMtrac.Qualifications/ExperienceQualificationsA Certificate IV in Government (Investigations or Compliance) would be highly regarded, but not required.ExperiencePrevious investigative experienceUsing databases and information reporting systemsWorking as part of a multi-disciplinary teamWorking in a regulatory compliance environmentWell-developed written communication skills.Applications close 11.30pm on Sunday, 10 November 2024
