About the role As Investigations Officer, you will conduct complex criminal investigations and prepare extensive full briefs of evidence for serious offences against the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL).
With the support of a national team of skilled investigators, the roles work collaboratively with operators and parties in the chain of responsibility to deliver joint initiatives, improving compliance and road safety.
Investigations Officers assist with the development and delivery of educational materials, processes and tools for use by our on-road staff to ensure the best possible outcomes are achieved for the heavy vehicle industry.
Planned travel to site or for internal conferences and training occurs on occasion (roughly monthly).

About You To succeed in the role, you will have demonstrated experience in complex investigations in a criminal or regulatory environment. Relevant qualifications such as Certificate IV in Government Investigations or similar is advantageous.
You will possess excellent written and oral communication skills, with an ability to negotiate and influence. Building, managing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders is crucial to your success.
You will strive for continuous improvement and promote innovative compliance approaches to achieve safety outcomes. Strong organisational and prioritisation skills are required to plan and coordinate law enforcement activities across multidisciplinary teams.
