Investigator | State Government | 6-month contract Your new company Hays have partnered with an important state government department to recruit an investigator within the Integrity and Assurance division. Your new role As an Investigator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of conduct and performance among department employees. Reporting to the Manager, Preliminary Investigations, your responsibilities include: Offering procedural and policy advice to manage complaints, misconduct, unsatisfactory performance, and fitness for duty issues. Supporting compliance with the Reportable Conduct Scheme. Providing expert advice on employment actions resulting from misconduct investigations. Managing misconduct cases and employee conflict issues. Developing and maintaining effective case management records for reporting purposes. What you'll need to succeed To excel in this role, you will need: A deep understanding of procedural fairness and workplace investigation processes. Knowledge of relevant legislation, including Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement, Fair Work Act, and the Reportable Conduct Scheme. Strong planning, organising, and written communication skills. The ability to build and maintain effective relationships and work collaboratively within a team. Initiative, accountability, and a proactive approach to identifying and seizing opportunities.
