The Opportunity

The opportunity exists for an experienced Inventory & Purchasing Controller to join the VVMF Supply Chain and Procurement Team.
Reporting directly to the Supply Chain & Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for the purchasing and managing the inventory of the raw materials required for the manufacture of gene therapy vectors for clinical use in humans.

Key Responsibilities:

With the support and guidance from the Supply Chain & Logistics Manager, the Inventory & Purchasing Controller will be responsible for the following duties:
Inventory Management and MaintenanceDeveloping and implementing inventory control proceduresForecasting future inventory requirements based on trends and demandsPerform inventory reconciliation when discrepancies existDiscrepancy resolutionLiaise with all 3PL parties to ensure they are maintaining inventory accuracy at all timesEnsure regular cycle counts and stocktakes are being performedNon-inventory and inventory purchasesEvaluating vendors, negotiating contract terms and price with suppliersTracking orders to ensure they are delivered on time as well as reviewing the quality of the purchased productsPreparing reports on purchases and conducting cost analysis
You will be working in a start-up environment, flexibility when it comes to duties and responsibilities is needed.
You will need to have the ability to problem solve, think on your feet and roll up your sleeves to get things done.

About You Experience Required: Relevant degree in Commerce, Business Administration or relevant fieldPrevious experience in a similar role (around 4-5 years) in both Inventory and PurchasingExperience working with ERP systemsExperience with managing and engaging with different vendorsAbility to problem solve and present solutionsBe adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving start-up environmentDemonstrated effective, collaborative and professional communication skills, time management skills and timely delivery of required deliverables Desirable Experience: Experience working in a cGMP environment or working in a medical device setting and experience with ISO13485APICS or CPIM would be highly regarded Personal Attributes: Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written, oral and virtual)Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and to facilitate and resolve cross-functional activities and issuesA high level of professionalismPositive, "can do" attitudeStrong problem-solving skills, which are solutions-focusedInnovative, adaptable, and resilientProven team player who takes own initiative in supporting and achieving team goals/objectivesStrong attention to detail and highly organisedPersonal alignment with VVMF valuesMaintain a current and satisfactory National Police CheckMaintain eligibility to work in Australia
