Ongoing Part-time 21 hours per week Sydney CBD – The Domain Clerk Grade 1/2 Total Remuneration Package up to $57,873 Salary range ($42,416 to $46,112 Established in 1871, the Art Gallery of New South Wales is located in Sydney's The Domain adjacent to the Royal Botanic Garden and near the Central Business District. The Art Gallery acknowledges the original custodians of this land – the Gadigal people of the Eora nation.
The Art Gallery attracts around 2 million visitors annually and runs one of Australia's largest art education programs with over 90,000 student and teacher visits per year.
Our expanded campus opened in late 2022, providing the Art Gallery with a new state-of-the-art building located next to our existing and much-loved building. The addition has given the Art Gallery double the exhibition space, allowing us to significantly increase our scheduled exhibitions, family programming and educational programs.

About the role Responsible for the efficient logistical management of shop merchandise, consumables, fittings and publications for the Gallery Shop and Art Gallery publishing program. The position holder primarily receives incoming stock, ensures its accurate registration onto the shop's database system (Ebility), correct pricing, and prepares and dispatches outgoing stock.
The position holder will be required to liaise with the offsite Stores personnel in relation to the movement of stock between the onsite location and offsite storage facility. Depending on workload, flexible working across the Stores function may be required at times.

What technical / soft skills you require Demonstrated experience in retail warehousing, inventory management, logistics and stock control. Sound administrative skills including Excel and other Microsoft Office products for the completion of documentation, recording information, analysis of information and reporting. Excellent communication and organizational skills. An understanding of retail functions in particular invoicing, dispatch, inventory database management and competence in operating an inventory/point of sale system. A demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and a history of service delivery to internal and external customers. Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety and risk assessment including manual handling practices, operating equipment, and vehicles. A NSW Driver's License and a NSW LO or LF Forklift License (or ability to obtain) and experience using truck and forklift. Targeted questions The Inventory officer is responsible for managing inventory and stock. Please discuss the following in relation to your previous experience: what steps did you take to identify stock levels, how often did you undertake this and how was this documented. Please include in your response any systems used in relation to stock-take and management of inventory (max 400 words) The Inventory officer needs to be flexible to meet the demands of stock between the onsite location and offsite storage and changing schedules. Please provide an example of how you remain resilient and flexible in changing circumstances.
