Inventory Controller (Nov 04) Working Days: Monday to Friday, Shift Pattern: 8am – 17.00 pm, Salary: £26,500 - £28,840.
Key Responsibilities Your role will include:
Contributing towards the delivery of world-class services as part of a dynamic and forward-thinking team. Being integral in inventory control and process implementation, and fundamental in developing the company's working culture, reputation, and values. Assisting in the provision of safe custody and real-time visibility of stock holdings. Maintaining an accurate and extensive inventory database. Maintaining product information integrity on CRM, including price, manufacturer, description, supplier, and average lead times. Tracking stock movements including goods inwards, despatches, returns, rejections, and internal transfers. Organising and executing perpetual inventory stock counting/inventory accuracy checks. Supporting new contract start-up phases; identifying contractual requirements, potential issues, and areas for improvement; and assisting in the effective implementation of these. Assisting in the store's location labelling both physically and on CRM. Producing internal and external management reports including stock holdings, stock utilisation, stock movements, customer-owned assets, customer and supplier delivery performance, transportation costs, and supply chain issues. Participating in the investigation of stock discrepancies and errors to achieve timely and satisfactory resolution. Playing an integral part in the development of the company's inventory management strategy to control costs within budgetary limits, generate savings, rationalise inventory, and maximise available working capital. Contributing towards minimising overstocks and promoting the removal of obsolete/redundant materials to maximise availability of working capital. Creating and maintaining accurate written procedures for all main inventory control and stores management processes and functions. Creating and maintaining product codes to reflect supplier changes, work stream evolution, and new contract awards. Acting as a stores point of contact for liaison with the Asset and Servicing team. Ensuring the inbound receipt of materials from MJQ clients and suppliers is undertaken in a timely manner to ensure optimum efficiency and reduce operational downtime. Ensuring efficient communication of receipted goods to the intended recipients where relevant. Organising the re-order and ad hoc ordering of products and materials from both clients and suppliers via the in-house buying team. Liaising with clients to manage demand-driven customer-owned buffer stocks ensuring compliance with client policies and procedures. Liaising with internal and external parties to advise and plan for impending stock issues. Liaising with stores staff to maintain accurate and efficient stock locations. Skills Required Strong communication skills, dealing with internal and external stakeholders. Good IT skills. Team player. Good organisational skills with the ability to manage workload effectively. Prioritising key tasks continually to ensure they receive the greatest attention. Being practical and making the best use of available time and resources. Ability to analyse and evaluate situations and implications, making strategic decisions accordingly. Taking initiative and identifying what needs to be done without needing to be asked. Learning from mistakes and considering various options before making a decision. Listening to the views of others and taking advice as appropriate. Qualifications - None required
