City of Newcastle is seeking an experienced Invasive Species Specialist to join the Environment and Sustainability, Invasive Species Team.
As the Invasive Species Officer, you will provide your in-depth knowledge of Invasive Species to assist the Invasive Species team in implementing the Biosecurity Framework through efficient application of tasks such as undertaking scheduled routines to property and conducting site inspections to identify priority species as per the risks detailed in the Hunter Regional Strategic Weed Management Plan.
You will also be responsible for providing technical advice to internal and external stakeholders as well as the general community to inform them of their relative legislative requirements under the NSW Biosecurity Act, and the risks imposed by invasive species.
