$75,439 to $86,992 per annum (HEO5)
Plus 17% employer superannuation
Salary packaging options are available
5 weeks annual leave plus Christmas week shutdown, per annum

About the role
The International Student Support Officer will provide support and customer focused services to ensure the University fulfils its service standards and obligations to international students with emphasis on student welfare and the international student experience. The responsibilities include:

Providing support and assistance to commencing and continuing international students to ensure they are supported and connected to essential services both at the University and in the wider community;
Developing a professional relationship with internal and external agencies including emergency and community services.
Providing support for international students to ensure they continue to meet mandatory requirements under the Australian legislative framework governing international students on Student Visas.
Supporting students in adjusting to life at UNE and Australia through the implementation of programs and activities to enhance the international student experience.

This position works in close collaboration with other UNE Units, in particular the English Language Centre, the Student Experience Portfolio (including Counselling) and academic Course and Unit Coordinators.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:

Completion of a degree, or diploma level qualification with relevant work related experience, or certificate qualification with post-certificate relevant work experience, or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience of principles and procedures applicable to international students under Australian law and relevant to this position.
Proven strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to complete competing work tasks with a high attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate with excellent oral and written communication skills in a professional and effective manner with internal and external stakeholders, with respect, discretion and cultural sensitivity.
Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and judgement in a diverse range of problem solving situations including routine and unusual circumstances and in an environment with multiple conflicting priorities.
