This Extrusion Division of EGR Group manufactures plastic/polymer focused on producing high-quality plastic rigid sheets. Candidates with a background in chemical engineering will be highly regarded. About the Role We are looking for an experienced international sourcing and purchasing lead to build strong relationships with our suppliers globally for a key commodity that is crucial to the production and manufacturing of all EGR products as well as external clients.
Your primary focus within this role is the sole buyer of resin and related products. Produced globally predominantly in SE Asia, you will source, select, and transport to Australia the best quality resin at the best price for our organisation.
Your new role will also be responsible for: Leading a highly capable team to ensure a seamless process from initial contact with suppliers to the arrival and storage of resin in the production facility.Working closely with the production and sales managers to meet supply demands for production schedules and valued clients.Maintaining critical relationships with all suppliers globally to ensure EGR is a priority customer.Analysing global pricing, market trends, and global stock levels and data to ensure that the best commercial decisions can be made.About you: You will have at least 5 years of experience as a global senior sourcing and purchasing specialist, preferably in commodities.You have demonstrated experience negotiating annual purchases of over $20m across key suppliers, where every cent counts.You will have experience and/or knowledge of the chemistry of resin and related products; a chemical engineering background would be highly desirable.You will have lived or worked across Asia to understand cultural and business norms and values in order to build close working relationships.You have an understanding of international freight and logistics.You will have at least 3 years of experience in a business leadership role to ensure that your team is reaching their full potential.You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships and understand the importance of all aspects and roles within an organisation.You will have a high level of commercial and financial acumen and the ability to make informed decisions based on the needs of the whole business, key priorities, and all relevant stakeholders.You are able to work at varied paces, in line with business requirements, with the ability to deliver in tight time frames and constraints.You will be resourceful and solutions-focused to all constraints, obstacles, and issues, always with the end result in mind.With 51 years of history and a vision for growth, EGR is a great organisation for your own career growth and development to own some great initiatives from conception to complete integration.
