ABOUT THE COMPANY Join an industry leader in the distribution, service and support of specialist equipment sourced from world class industrial product providers that are utilised by many Australian and New Zealand contractors and municipalities to service environmental, civil, mining, and industrial industries.
ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented International Logistics Specialist to join an established Operations team. You will support the Operations Manager in coordinating the importation of vehicles, components, and related products, primarily from overseas. You will be responsible for managing the entire import process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of goods while adhering to international trade regulations.
Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and manage the end-to-end import process for vehicles and components, coordinating with suppliers, shipping companies and internal stakeholders. Prepare and review import documentation and ensure compliance with customs regulations and trade agreements. Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimise import operations, managing inventory levels to meet business requirements. Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and logistics providers, negotiating rates and terms. Identify and mitigate risks associated with international shipping, creating contingency plans as necessary. Prepare reports on shipment status and costs, analysing data to drive continuous process improvements. Your Key Competencies will include: Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain/Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field. Experience in importing/manufacturing, particularly in the heavy vehicle industry, is highly desirable. Familiarity with Lean principles is an advantage. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
