Our Business Lifestyle and Community Services is a unique division that provides a diverse range of services – all with the common purpose of delivering experiences that matter for our communities. We are made up of 6 branches, including Community Facilities, Library Services, Compliance and Regulatory Services, Community Services Planning and Governance, Customer Services and Connected Communities.
Our Branch Community Facilities leads the sustainable management of Council-owned community facing assets.
We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Operations Officer to liaise with existing and prospective clients, including educational bodies, booking various events at Council managed community venues, including Community Halls and the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium. This role will maintain and develop customer contact in order to generate event revenue, secure hirers and coordinate and manage bookings and ticket sales.
The Role The Operations Officers provide high quality administrative and customer liaison support to facilitate the day-to-day functioning of community halls; including the facilitation of bookings and hire agreements, appointment setting, halls data reporting, operation of the security access system, and troubleshooting technical problems. This role also supports the bookings and administration functions of the Planetarium, including the facilitation of group and school bookings, ticket sales, retail sales and general office administration functions.
This role will deliver information to customers and suppliers regarding Council managed community facilities activities in a timely and accurate manner while maintaining efficient administration systems and procedures to ensure that the venues operate efficiently with a high level of customer service.
The Operations Officer will be required to conduct on-site inspections and inductions on a business needs basis to facilities across the Brisbane region. These roles will be working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple requests at the same time including customer facing enquiries, phone calls, payments, emails, online bookings, cancellations, renewals, site visits and responding to internal/external stakeholders.
