Reporting to Head of People, as an Internal Investigator you will carry out thorough, impartial investigations into suspicions or allegations of serious misconduct of employees after an initial assessment has been completed.
You will prepare investigation plans and reports, conduct interviews, review documentation, examine evidence, determine findings and provide expert recommendations while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Your Impact: Be part of a team of investigators (3) and our Investigative Authority (our assessments team) to support Goodstart to ensure internal investigations are conducted in accordance with the principles of natural justice and procedural fairness.Act as investigator for complex serious misconduct cases involving (but not limited to) child abuse, neglect and harm, reportable conduct, fraud, breach of duty of care, breaches of regulations or legislation, systemic bullying or harassment, serious breach of Code of Conduct, Child Safe Behaviour Standards or other serious neglect in performance of duties.Where required, part of this role may be to interview children.Collect, analyse and interpret evidence to determine findings and identify trends or risks.Identify potential investigative barriers and recommend effective solutions.Gather information primarily from individuals by conducting formal interviews and taking statements using a variety of interviewing and probing techniques, or from corporate information systems or other records.Coordinate and communicate with complainants, witnesses, respondents, and children (if appropriate) throughout the investigation.Write detailed, high-quality investigative reports setting out facts coherently, objectively and accurately in the appropriate details, followed by a well-reasoned analysis and objective assessment and weighting of the evidence.Organise information into presentable formats which can be used internally or incorporated into evidence admissible in civil, criminal or industrial jurisdictions.
