About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Corporate Accountant to join our team. Reporting directly to the Director, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality and timely financial services while ensuring full statutory compliance for our entity and associated entities. As an experienced Accountant, you will manage a diverse range of financial and accounting responsibilities, both internally and externally. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong organizational and administrative skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Include: Payroll ManagementProcessing payroll across multiple sites.Declare and lodge payroll tax incurred by the company to the State Revenue Office (SRO).Maintaining payroll information for staff, and updating records when necessary, e.g. with changes to insurance coverage, job titles, employee savings & superannuation contributions, department & division transfers.Managing superannuation obligations for all employees with the company's nominated superannuation fund as well as other superannuation funds nominated by the employees on a quarterly basis. Financial ManagementCarrying out bank reconciliations on a monthly basis.Performing monthly reconciliations of all sites.Conducting financial investigations and verifying that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures as required.Preparation & lodgement of financial reports and relevant information in order to generate Business Activity Statements (BAS).Preparing financial statements for presentation to management, shareholders, and governing and statutory bodies on a monthly basis.Generating budgets and profit and loss statements when required by management.Performing year-end audit reconciliations.Managing the company's accounts overall by overseeing transactions recorded by team members. Process ImprovementOngoing reporting to management on the review of existing processes, procedures, systems, structure & suppliers to ensure cost effectiveness and best practice.Analyzing and suggesting ways to improve and elaborate on current financial processes by investigating internal control systems.Proactively driving improvements in financial and risk management. Your Background and ExperienceA minimum of 2 years of experience in similar roles, demonstrating a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.Proficiency in using Xero and Microsoft Office suite is preferred.Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyze financial data and provide strategic insights.
