Discover the Opportunity The Internal Communications Specialist is responsible for managing Opal's internal communications, activities, systems, and processes to improve the quality of our internal communication and strengthen collaboration across the business.
Reporting to the Project & Change Leader, this role will lead the development and execution of Opal's internal communication strategy, in addition to developing communications in alignment with Opal's strategic plans and agreed messaging.
The key objective of the role is to boost engagement and improve cross-functional teamwork across the business.
You will contribute to the success of Opal by:
Developing the Internal Communications Strategy, calendar, and cadence linked to the execution of the Opal Strategic Plan, and related divisional strategies, ensuring Opal's mission, values, initiatives, and people news are communicated in a regular, considered, effective, and engaging way.Defining and managing multiple internal communications channels to facilitate and grow a sense of community amongst all our team members.Supporting the management of Opal's intranet site ensuring it is the "single source of truth" for our people internally at Opal.As a Viva Engage Administrator, supporting business area subject matter experts/team champions to establish and utilise the Viva Engage platform, including providing training to these users and maintaining User Guides.Working closely with Opal Business Units to support project-related communications activities to ensure these initiatives are effectively communicated across the business.Managing Opal's Brand Guidelines and templates, and providing branding advice to users to ensure the Opal brand is consistently applied.We embrace diversity in all its forms and we look for curious individuals who thrive in an environment of change.
Specifically for this role, we expect you will have:
Tertiary qualification, preferably in Communications, Change Management, Marketing, Public Relations, Commerce, or related degree.Substantial relevant work experience in internal communications or related field.Demonstrated experience in developing an enterprise Internal Communications Strategy.Demonstrated expertise in developing project-based communication plans.Must be a confident communicator (verbal and written).Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout & design skills.Demonstrated experience and skills utilising design tools such as Adobe/InDesign.Demonstrated experience and technical skills developing content for web-based communications platforms including SharePoint.For more information please contact Ruth Messenger: or jump right in by sending us your CV.
