Job Description - Internal Communications Advisor (261207) We're changing the way Australia generates its energy, are you ready for a change?
The Project UGL and CPB Contractors have been awarded the early works contract to support Powerlink's delivery of CopperString 2032. This $5 billion iconic project will initially be approximately 840 kilometres of new transmission line running from just south of Townsville to Mount Isa that will connect Queensland's North West Minerals Province to the national electricity grid. The project scope includes:
500 kilovolt (kV) transmission line from just south of Townsville to Hughenden 330kV transmission line from Hughenden to Cloncurry 220kV transmission line from Cloncurry to Mount Isa, up to six new substation sites. This exciting project will commence construction in 2024 and we are currently looking for an experienced Internal Communications Advisor to join the team on the Copperstring Project.
What will a day in this role look like: The Internal Communications Advisor plays a key role supporting the Community Stakeholder Director in delivering the internal communication and engagement strategy for the project. Support the Director of Communications and Stakeholder Engagement, the community engagement, Indigenous engagement, and social impact teams with the project's portfolio of internal and external communication activities, including: Researching and writing content for a range of internal and external publications including internal and external newsletters, staff bulletins, social media content, worker profiles, industry award and client-related submissions. Liaison with key project delivery disciplines and wider construction team. Supporting the team's internal culture and values through key communications activities and events. Assisting with producing videos for internal and external communications. Assisting with producing internal campaigns e.g. safety, staff awards. Assisting the community engagement team with managing external and industry events. What are we looking for you to bring to the team: Minimum 4-5 years' experience in internal communications or related field. Bachelor's Degree in journalism, communication, public relations, media or similar. Experience in the use of Consultation Manager V2.0. Proven experience in developing and executing internal communications plans. Demonstrated experience in creating, editing, and proofreading multiple sources of media. Demonstrated experience managing various communication channels such as intranet platforms, email newsletters, and digital communications tools. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels across the Project. Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands. Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and SharePoint.
